Plaster from the walls to the ceiling
Plaster rooms look simple when they are done, so this page shows the whole job: sample boards, taped and primed walls, scaffolding in the main room, and the finished spaces. Ceilings got the same hand-troweled finish as the walls, so each room reads as one continuous surface.
The main room keeps the plaster quiet and light so the oak beams and fireplace carry the space, with the finish running up onto the ceiling between the beams.
The bath and shower are finished in Tadelakt, a traditional waterproof lime plaster that is compressed and polished by hand. It takes more time and care than any other finish we do, so it is quoted per project.
Lime plaster takes patience: thin coats, drying time between passes, and walls that are smooth and sound before the first coat goes on. That prep is what keeps a plaster finish from cracking later. So is scheduling us last — after the electrician has finished moving boxes and cutting holes in a wall we just troweled.
